How to Apply

Please complete the online application form. This will allow us to understand your background, your scientific interest, and what you wish to accomplish. Make sure to upload all required documents.

Registrations are only accepted online. Please note that you will not be able to submit your application unless all necessary information is completed.

In order to complete your application, you will need the following information and documents (in PDF format):

An up-to-date CV
Transcripts from Bachelor and/or Master studies (with grades)
A 1-2 page letter of motivation, highlighting your interest and prior experience in the school’s topic
2 letters of recommendation, one being from your current supervisor at your home institution (2 separate files)
Title, author list, and abstract of your poster (plain text without special characters). Posters should be A0 size. Beyond the size restriction, there are no special guidelines or layout parameters.

Deadline for registrations is 20 April 2018. On this date, the registration system will automatically close.

As acceptance notifications will be sent out before 15 May 2018, the interim 3 months should allow for accepted participants to pay the registration fee, make travel arrangements, and obtain a visa for Germany, if needed. Please review visa requirements relevant to your home country, as applying for and obtaining the visa is in your own responsibility. Note that your participation in the school is considered confirmed only upon payment of the registration fee.

Selection Process

Participants will be selected based on their academic track record (CV, grades, and letters of recommendation) and their motivation to strengthen their knowledge in computational biology (letter of motivation). Applicants whose research or thesis projects at home require or are connected to modeling and simulating biological systems will be given priority.
